Are You a Snorer?

Did you know, it’s estimated that 30% of people aged 30 and over snore? And what funny is that, actually, roughly 60% of people claim their partners snore, so the numbers could be anywhere in between! I am most definitely a snorer. It’s worse when I have a cold or sleep on my back (which is almost never) but when I do, it’s probably the only time that Husband is glad to be deaf in one ear, …

Is This Really What Passes for Humour in 2013?

Sometimes, it’s really difficult to maintain a sense of humour at the same time as upholding certain standards. I consider myself to be a person with a good sense of humour but I do also feel like I spend a disproportionate amount of time in a state of moral outrage. I’ve been told by family members, in the past, that I take things too seriously, which may well be true but I prefer to think …

Can Cook, Don’t Cook

Food is something with which I have a complicated relationship but if I were to try and put it in a nutshell for you, it’d go something like this; I eat too much of it and I like all of the wrong things. That’s not to say that I don’t like healthy food, but I have this addiction to junk that probably goes way back into my childhood, when money wasn’t hugely abundant and things …

And Now, A Word From Our Sponsor

Sleep. It’s something that tends to dominate your life when you become a parent. (Apologies for the seemingly random intro, but do bear with me…) To be honest, it’s something that’s been a dominating factor in our lives for a lot longer than Sausage has been around. Husband is an insomniac, as you’ll know if you’ve read this, and has been since he was a baby. His Mum vividly recalls sitting on his bedroom floor …

Alternative Valentines

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I thought I’d hop aboard the Hallmark bandwagon and have a peruse of The Broadway during my lunch hour and see if I could find something to surprise Husband with in the morning. I went into a shop that sells generalised Object D’Art and other pointless, middle-class tat and noticed that they had some cards, and I toyed with the idea of getting one, despite the fact that we don’t …

Jake and the Neverland Doormats

As is the case with a lot of four-year-olds, Sausage is a big fan of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. It’s a pretty good show and there’s always a moral lesson in each episode, cleverly disguised as something that Jake and his swashbuckling buddies must do to help them earn ‘gold doubloons’ for their treasure chest. I rarely have an issue with the shows that Sausage chooses to watch on TV and I’ve blogged before …

Domino’s Gluten Free Pizza Review

Last Friday, we were offered the chance to try Domino’s gluten free pizza, and being fans of Domino’s pizza delivery we thought we’d give it a try. Husband actually suffers with certain food intolerances and we’ve often wondered if gluten is one of them, so it was interesting to see how meals containing gluten could be replaced in his diet. Our local store only offers gluten free pizzas in the small size, so we ordered …

“Mummy, I don’t like looking in the mirror.”

Husband, Sausage and I popped into town today for a bit of a browse. We were having a mooch round TK Maxx and they’d walked off ahead of me but as I caught up, I saw Sausage do something that I found really disconcerting. As she noticed herself in the mirror, I saw her frown deeply and then turn away with a look of disgust on her face. I mentioned to Husband what I’d seen …
